So I’m off the radar from Monday 2nd-Saturday 7th March.

No, I won’t be sunbathing.. (haven’t you seen my moontan?…)

So I went down to the tattoo shop, and took a load of books in a wheely trolley.. (they were so heavy)

And so we chatted for a while and looked at other ideas, and final decisions were made! I am not going to attempt any coverage of what I have, but get some recolouring of them, and add some nice pretty Japanese style waves and flowers.

One half arm…3 x 3hr sessions, AAARGGH!  9 hrs for one arm!  11th May.

The other arm will take longer too, but that will be later. I need 2wks healing time inbetween sessions.

On a pain scale of 1-10, ’1′  being stabbing your finger with a needle, and ’10′  being amputation with no anaesthetic, tattooing is about 7. Well that’s what I think..ouch.

He drew on my arms with coloured pens to get an idea of what it will look like, and I am very very pleased!

My ideas of peacocks and stained glass are still going to appear at some time though, I will save that idea for another day…..it needs its own space.

Do you know what I have been doing? Getting out my more glamorous dresses and sewing/adding fancier LONGER sleeves so I can still be safe and discreet in a restaurant! See? Still thinking of you..hehe.

And then, after all this! ….I will get a big spiders web on my neck. Joke…

After years of thinking about it, searching far and wide, I have to tell you that I have found ‘The One’ …

‘The One’ who will be entwined with me till death, ‘The One’ who will literally wipe away my blood, sweat and tears…

Thee Tattooist!

I wrote a big post about it aeons ago, I have finally found the one.

It’s a him.

See, you can’t have ‘just anyone’  ink you forever, it needs to be.. ‘just so’.  Moreover, I am much more difficult to work with now, considering that I already have large tattoos to incorporate. A difficult task if ever there was!

I would have liked G to add to me… G was my first tattooist, he died of meningitis in his early 40′s…just a few years ago too.

A hilarious gent, whom you would never deem a  tattooist at all. Shirt, tie, suit, cufflinks, tidy haircut…he was covered from the neck down! Really nice man, a good friend too. He taught me to tattoo! I have limited exp though at this time.

And no one ever saw his, apart from other tattooists. He showed me his arms once, and showed me photos of his back and legs. He travelled the world to find the right people.

I have trusted my instinct in many things, and it has always worked well for me, so I am confident of letting this new man.. mark me forever. I have trawled many places in UK, and I actually found him here, in London.

I walked into Frith St Tattoos again…. for the 3rd time in a month, and he just stood out. I earwigged the conversation, I just knew he was the one, within 2 mins!  But I mooched about for ages, looked at the portfolios (very tempted by all the artists actually) and kept listening to him talking to someone else.  I just liked him, I just knew he would be right. I just knew. No sales pitch, said it like it is, all the real stuff, which I already knew….he ticked my boxes.

I had a short list including  Nicole Lowe, Mr X (both have huge waiting lists, but V. recommended if you’re looking) for detailed shading and strong sense of personal style.

It’s not that I hate mines….. I have NEVER regretted being tattooed, EVER!  It was never done on a whim in the first place. A new interpretation is in order…

I always KNEW that I would do this, much to my parents horror. I used to draw on myself with felt tips when I was really young. I had never seen tattoos then, and when I discovered them a bit later, I was agog, and knew that it was for me. I had a strong urge to be decorated permanently. Something about the ‘cavewoman’ in me? Hahaha..(bet you would like that cavewoman bit, huh!)

As much as I apply my red lips with a magnifying mirror in front of me…I am but a woman.

You also do it everyday, you shave, or you trim parts, you dress just..so. You present yourself, you comb, you preen, you are not aware, but you do as much as women do. It’s human nature…

So.. back to the tattoos…. I didn’t finish off what I started, I am annoyed that they are not yet symmetrical.

And this year they will be!

Hurrah!

I have to wait on him till May-ish.

I am so nervous too! I have no idea what a modern machine feels like…..

Oh Tattooist,  it’s been 22yrs since my last ‘confession’ ie, the needle.

They will be much bigger too, but of course.. it has to be. My ideas of the past few years..peacocks and stained glass, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Rene Lalique, Louis Comfort Tiffany.  I could live with some kind of hybrid/amalgamation forever. Perhaps add again in 22yrs time!

You won’t see it on pics online, you will only see if you choose to visit me…

New man and I had a good chat, and I am going on Wednesday for the proper consultation. I am taking a pile of relevant arty books for ref, and he was keen at that idea.

The right man is the one who…listens. And hears. Tattooists included.

Just one of the things that kept me from you in the past weeks!

Other things..some emails and texts/calls asking if I’m ok?….

I have just had opportunities with timescales, and I simply must grab them!

All is great at Dollymopp Mansions, dontcha worry!

New strings to bows take time…learning cut throat razor, (very exp!) searching getting tattooed, (exp!)  new fangled sewing machine (loads of past pro exp, but maybe a new line of Dollymopp Design lingerie?) learning photography et al..

Relearning the new way of tattooing may be in there too…

And do you see…erm…it all comes back to Dollymopping in the end…

NEWSFLASH!!

I am going to disappear for a week, both sites and blog will be gone by the weekend. For about a week.

Well.

I am really me, and what makes me laugh a lot, is me laying bare my soul sometimes, the dreadfully shameful bits , if it’s funny!

Something on a forum reminded me of the past, and I posted about it, much to many peoples mirth!

My first ‘Sex Toy’ was.. erm…made out of plasticine. And added bumps for realism. And clingfilm.

My face has just fired up now, again!  I can’t see yours, so it’s ok..

This camouflage coloured (mashed up packets of 12 strip plasticine all turns shitty camo greeny/brown) thing was a fabulous source of pleasure, I made it to my own specifications! It was small to medium, I know that now..

But I had the safety question in my head, and covered it with clingfilm!

Oooh what a gal..I should really be commended for ingenuity…maybe I was a sex toy designer and didn’t even know it!
