Re the wine rack, I think that the use of the term ‘kitschy’ may be over-egging the pudding a little, even if it’s conjoined with the word ‘cool’.
Kitsch – art, objects, or design considered to be in poor taste because of excessive garishness or sentimentality (OED).
I’d be more inclined to say flamboyant or extravagant. I’m glad you liked it though, but it’s not as cool and sexy as the fine rack…
